ACCOUNTABILITY FOR FISCAL RESPONSIBILITY

Our government must be efficient and accountable to the people of Richmond Hill. At a time where cost of living is increasing everywhere, there is no excuse for more government waste of your hard-earned tax dollars. I will fight to slim down the cost of government: 

​

• I pledge to freeze our property tax by ensuring a fiscally responsible approach to managing our finances.

• This improved allocation of resources will maintain the high quality level of services residents need, and being accountable ultimately to those who pay for those bills - YOU.

ACCOUNTABILITY FOR SAFE STREETS AND SAFE COMMUNITIES

 

Richmond Hill should always be a place our families and children can feel safe and secure in. Unfortunately many in our communities in the last few years have been targeted by rising levels of crime and reckless incidents. The residents of Richmond Hill deserve safe streets and safe communities. I will take a ZERO TOLERANCE approach towards threats to community safety: 

• I pledge to adopt a Zero Tolerance policy to keep us safe - I will first work to combat home invasion and auto theft. 

• I will propose a new plan to boost the Ward 6 Neighbourhood Communications Program. 

• I will work with governments, local enforcement and community groups to better utilize traffic tools and adopt a stricter approach towards reckless driving.

ACCOUNTABILITY FROM CITY HALL

I have always believed government works for the people, not the other way around. I commit to restoring and maintaining the decorum, accountability and transparency of Richmond Hill’s City Council: 

​

• I pledge to improve the efficiency of City Council functions. Every minute of city council deliberations is a cost towards the people of Richmond Hill. It should reflect the expectations residents demand from their elected representatives. 

• I commit to updating ongoing plans and explaining upcoming projects, including the Yonge North Subway Extension and future Transit-Oriented Communities. I will be a tireless advocate for responsible development which benefits our communities.
